Our family firm is in the charming village of Venteuil, at the heart of the Champagne wine region, 10 kms from Epernay, on the right bank of the Vallée de la Marne.
 Our vineyards (8.5 hectares)
stretch over several areas, allowing us to grow all three grape-varieties used in champagne-making,
and also to create harmonious blends.
The very picturesque Vallée de la Marne can be visited by its snaking 'route touristique du Champagne'
whose aim it is to enable you to discover its particularities.
You will first learn of the
particularity of the soil which is a true gift of Nature.
Composed of a thick layer of chalk, left over from the sea which covered the region millions of years ago,
it is a natural thermostat and water-regulator throughout the four seasons. It's a major asset for the winegrowers of this region.
The depth of this layer of sedimentation can reach 200 metres in places and sometimes produce quite abrupt landscapes.
Venteuil, situated at the heart of this valley, benefits fully from this particularity. Moreover
, the fact that it faces due south lets it make the most of the summer sun.
The Maurice Grumier vineyards are spread over various areas, thus allowing
a wide diversity in potential blends. |

Throughout time, different water-courses have made of our region a great place for rambling.
|
During your visit to our firm, we will be most happy to point out to you
the prettiest places to visit in our beautiful region, and to show you round our firm
so that you can understand what makes champagne so special. |
